Inspiration
Remember about the changes to the blog I’m working on? Well, one of the things I want to do is give a treat to my readers and subscribers.
I want to thank you for opening my emails and clicking to see the new patterns I designed. For that reason, I decided to make a special design – or in this case a set of special designs – just for you! 😀
It’s a mailing list exclusive design that you’ll only get if you are on my mailing list. However, if you’re not on my mailing list yet don’t worry because you can subscribe at any time and you’ll still get the pattern!
Now, you may be thinking that you’re more of a knitter than a crocheter… Not a problem, because I’ve made a knitted version too! 😀 And if you’re both… you can have both!
So hop on my mailing list and get this free and exclusive pattern, which is the first of many perks to come.
Project
This design was actually inspired by the knitted version.
The knitted design uses the seed stitch, also called moss stitch. And funnily enough, crochet also has its own version of these stitches. Between the two of them, I decided to use the moss stitch for the crochet version of the pattern.
This design uses a couple of basic stitches. However, because of the ribbing, it has a few tricks to it. Nevertheless, I wanted it to be easy for a beginner to make, so I’ve added a lot of photos to help you in every step of the way. Moreover, because of the weight of the yarn, it is very quick to make. It only takes up a few hours from start to finish. I’ve used an acrylic yarn I had on my stash for a while, but the great thing about this pattern is that you can use whatever yarn you have around – either the same weight or above and you’ll still be able to do it!
Asides from being slightly bigger, the crochet version is also a bit more sturdy than its knit counter-part. To make sure you get a comfy cowl I used different hook sizes throughout the pattern. And just like in the knitted version, I’ve included instructions on how to change the cowl’s measurements to make it suit your style!
I hope you enjoy my little treat! 🙂
